OPay, a top fintech company in Nigeria, has won two big awards at the 5th Consumers Value Awards (CVA). This shows that Nigerian consumers really trust the OPay brand.

The awards took place on Wednesday, 23 September 2026, in Ikeja, Lagos. OPay won the Most Trusted Brand Award (FinTech) and the Most Consumer Friendly/Innovative FinTech Brand Award.

OPay got 70.1 percent of the total valid votes to win the Most Trusted Brand (FinTech) award. For the Most Consumer Friendly/Innovative FinTech Brand award, it received 70.2 percent of the votes.

These awards are special because they come from a nationwide voting process. The Consumers Value Awards allows consumers to nominate brands they think provide real value. After that, the shortlisted brands go through a public voting process. The brand with the most valid votes in each category wins.

This recognition is more than just an industry award. It shows what consumers think about the financial technology brands they use every day.

Odiase Ikponmwosa Kolawole, Head of Partnerships at OPay, shared his thoughts on the awards. He said the awards show the strong bond the company has with its customers.

"This award belongs to our customers. Their trust challenges us to keep delivering simple, reliable and innovative financial services that make everyday life easier."

Isimeme Ayobami Owobu, Team Director for Key Account Merchants, Retail and FMCG at OPay, also spoke about the awards. He said they show the company's commitment to putting consumers and merchants first.

"Being recognised by consumers is deeply meaningful. We will continue to listen, improve and create solutions that deliver real value to Nigerians."

Since it launched in Nigeria in 2018, OPay has created a wide financial services platform for consumers and businesses. Its services include payments, transfers, savings, and merchant services.

This latest recognition comes as OPay celebrates eight years of operations in Nigeria. The company continues to focus on trust, accessibility, innovation, and customer experience.

For OPay, these two awards send a clear message from consumers. The value of a financial service is based on the confidence people have in using it every day.

OPay started in 2018 with a goal to make financial services more inclusive through technology. The company offers various payment services. These include money transfers, bill payments, card services, airtime, data purchases, and merchant payments. Known for its fast network and strong security, OPay is licensed by the CBN and insured by the NDIC with the same insurance coverage as commercial banks.
