Former Arsenal player Emmanuel Petit believes Victor Osimhen could bring strength to Arsenal's attack if he joins the club.
Petit was talking about Arsenal's attacking options when he mentioned Osimhen as a possible alternative to Julián Alvarez. Reports say the Napoli striker is valued at about £100 million.
In an interview with a British sports journalist who works with Oddschecker and WhoScored, and shared by PUNCH Online on Friday, Petit said both Osimhen and Alvarez have different skills. He thinks Osimhen could offer Arsenal more physical presence in front of goal.
“Next one for Arsenal then is Victor Osimhen at £100 million,” Petit said.
“They are different players. Not the same quality as Alvarez, but he will bring a powerful presence up front.”
Petit also mentioned Osimhen’s speed, determination, and strong personality as traits that could make him a good fit for Arsenal.
“He’s fast, he’s a fighter, he’s got a bad temper as well, a strong personality,” the former France international added.
Petit feels that Osimhen would provide Arsenal with something unique compared to Alvarez, while also recognizing that both players are solid options for the team.
“So, he will bring something different from Alvarez, but it’s two different options. Both of them are good,” he said.
Osimhen has made a name for himself as one of the top strikers in Europe. His speed, strength, and ability to find space make him a real threat in attack.
Joining Arsenal would give Osimhen another chance to play at the top level in the Premier League. His physical style could add a new element to Mikel Arteta’s attacking plans.
