The team of Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, known as Poco Lee, is asking people to be careful with negative stories about his legal case in the United Kingdom.

Poco Lee's manager, Faleye "Dee-Y" Adedoyin, released a statement on Wednesday recognizing the support from Nigerian singer Zlatan Ibile and others during this tough time.

Adedoyin said Zlatan and others have been "extremely supportive and helpful" as the situation unfolds. He added that their help has been important in moving things forward.

The statement said, "We would like to publicly acknowledge that Zlatan, along with others, has been extremely supportive and helpful through this matter.

"Their involvement, support, and effort have been vital to moving things forward.

"We deeply value their ongoing support and dedication and we kindly request that everyone refrain from spreading negative narratives."

The manager signed the statement as "Poco's Management."

This statement comes after comments about Poco Lee's trip to the UK and his ongoing court case. Social commentator Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, questioned reports suggesting that Poco Lee traveled to the UK for a Davido show.

In an Instagram post, VeryDarkMan claimed that Poco Lee actually went to the UK for a Zlatan show instead of a Davido concert. He also asked why people are defending Poco Lee while his case is still before the court.

VeryDarkMan said, "In between Poco Lee didn’t travel to the UK for a Davido show, it was for a Zlatan show."

He also mentioned that Poco Lee should be allowed to deal with the court process, saying, "Court case na stress" and praying that the matter will end soon.

This news comes as Poco Lee faces ongoing legal proceedings in the UK. He was granted bail on September 11 before his appearance at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15. The court confirmed the bail and hearing date to PUNCH Online.

However, the plea and trial preparation hearing set for September 15 was pushed to February 8, 2027, because the charge sheet was not available and Poco Lee did not show up in court. The trial is now scheduled for March 8, 2027.

Poco Lee is facing five sexual offence charges in the UK: attempted rape, two counts of rape, and two counts of assault by penetration. He has denied the claims and has not been found guilty of any crime.

His management has previously urged the public and media to be careful, especially about unverified stories surrounding the case. They said allegations should not be seen as proof of guilt.
