Ned Nwoko has asked bloggers, social media users, fans, and friends of his estranged wife, Regina Daniels, to stop spreading false news about her health and personal life, including claims of her supposed death.

The Delta North senator made this appeal in a statement on Instagram on Monday. This comes months after their marital problems became a hot topic online.

Mr Nwoko, 65, urged people to respect Regina's privacy and give her some space. He said he made this appeal not just for Regina but also for their two sons, Munir and Khalifa.

He said: "I make this appeal not just for her sake, but also for the sake of the kids, who are very well cared for and deserve to see their mother supported, loved and given every opportunity to get better. Regina has been through a lot, more than many people may realise, and right now, what she needs most is love, support and the opportunity to recover."

On her birthday, Regina shared a video that showed some of the health struggles she has faced. Mr Nwoko said this was not a time to judge her or add to her pain.

He said, "It is a time to show compassion and allow her the opportunity to heal."

The lawmaker also raised concerns about false claims regarding Regina’s alleged death, as well as misleading reports and harmful content shared online. He stressed that people should not think of these posts as just typical social media talk, as they cause Regina a lot of emotional pain.

He stated, "Regardless of the difficulties we have faced, her well-being has always mattered to me. It is, in fact, the very concern that brought much of our private situation into the public domain."

Mr Nwoko added, "They do nothing to support her recovery; rather, they add to the burden she is already carrying. I appeal to her fans, who genuinely care about her, to help discourage this behaviour instead of amplifying it."

The lawmaker warned that he would take legal action against anyone using anonymous social media accounts to spread false information about the actress. He said Regina deserves time and space to recover without facing daily false stories.

He said, "Those hiding behind social media accounts to invent stories, mislead the public and exploit her situation for clicks and engagement should stop immediately. We are documenting these publications, and anyone found responsible will be held accountable through the appropriate legal channels."

Mr Nwoko added, "There is a limit to what should be tolerated, and that limit has been reached. Regina deserves the opportunity to recover without being subjected to a fresh wave of fabricated stories every day."

These comments were Mr Nwoko’s first public remarks about Regina in a year. Their marital issues spilled onto social media, attracting attention for months amid claims of domestic violence, drug abuse, and other controversies in their marriage.
