Cletus Nwadiogbu, the State Commissioner of Police, shared this news during a press conference in Makurdi, the state capital.

He explained that armed men blocked a commercial bus around 11 pm on the Ankpenchi-Ogobia road and took all the passengers. There were about 13 people on the bus.

The Commissioner said, “On 13 September 2026, at about 2300 hours, armed men intercepted a commercial bus travelling along the Ankpenchi-Ogobia axis and abducted 13 persons.

“After the incident, our operatives quickly began coordinated efforts to rescue the victims. They managed to save four people, but nine others were still with the kidnappers.
