Paris Saint-Germain has turned down multiple offers from Manchester City for Super Falcons midfielder Jennifer Echegini. The French club does not want to sell the Nigerian player.

BBC Sport reported on Wednesday that Echegini, 25, is seen as a key part of the PSG team. Sources say the club will not let her go, even though she has just one year left on her contract.

Echegini grew up playing football in England. She joined PSG two years ago after a season with Juventus in Italy.

She played a big role in Nigeria’s win at last year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Echegini scored the winning goal against Morocco in the final, helping the Super Falcons grab their 10th continental title.

Manchester City wants to boost their team before the new Women’s Super League season starts. They have until Thursday’s transfer deadline to make more signings.

City is interested in Echegini after they announced that star player Vivianne Miedema will be out at the start of the season due to a knee injury.

On the other hand, PSG is getting ready for their third-round qualifying match in the Women’s Champions League against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday.
