Nigeria Premier Football League champions Rangers International have chosen the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta as their temporary home ground. They will kick off their title defence there against Katsina United on Sunday, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

This decision comes because of ongoing renovations at their stadium in Enugu. The move also allows the Flying Antelopes to get used to the pitch before their CAF Champions League preliminary-round match against Benin Republic’s AS Sobemap in September.

Both Rangers and Shooting Stars have picked the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta, Ogun State, for their CAF inter-club competition fixtures.

Rangers had previously agreed to play at Remo Stars' stadium in Ikenne for their CAF Champions League campaign. But after talks with their technical team led by head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, the Enugu club decided on the MKO Abiola Sports Arena instead.

The Flying Antelopes won their ninth NPFL title in May. They beat Ikorodu City 2-1 in Lagos on the last day of the 2025/26 season.

Their continental journey will start with the preliminary rounds in September. The teams need to clear the qualifying stages before moving on to the group phase.
