Rangers International are now focused on the Nigeria Premier Football League. This comes after they lost 3-2 on aggregate to MC Alger from Algeria in the CAF Champions League, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
The Flying Antelopes will take on Rivers United in their Matchday 11 game at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on Sunday. They hope to move past their continental disappointment and boost their chances for the league title.
In a message on their official X handle, the Enugu club said, "Focus shifts to the next battle! We travel to Port Harcourt to face Rivers United FC in our next NPFL fixture. The quest for those crucial three points continues."
Coached by Fidelis Ilechukwu, Rangers will now put their energy into the domestic league after their exit from the continental competition.
The current NPFL champions have 17 points, the same as Rivers United. However, Rangers have two matches left to play, which could help them improve their position on the table.
Rivers United are at the top of the table with 17 points from 10 matches. They will be eager to hold on to their spot when they host Rangers this Sunday.
This match is important for both teams. Rangers want to narrow the gap on the league leaders, while Rivers United aim to secure their place at the top.
