Sierra Leone defeats Ghana in T20 cricket series

Sierra Leone bounced back after losing to Nigeria A. They achieved a six-wicket win over Ghana in the Nigeria Cricket Federation Quadrangular T20 Series. This match took place at the Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval in Lagos on Tuesday, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

Sierra Leone held Ghana to 85 runs for 8 wickets in their 20 overs. They chased down the target, finishing at 86 runs for 4 wickets in just 18.1 overs, with 11 balls remaining.

This win came a day after Sierra Leone lost to Nigeria A by 33 runs. Ghana also faced defeat, losing by eight wickets to the same Nigeria team in their first match.

Abubakar Kamara led Sierra Leone's batting with 27 runs off 35 balls before getting caught out. Yegbeh Jalloh contributed 19 runs off 37 balls. Captain Lansana Lamin provided the late push, scoring an unbeaten 14 runs off just five balls. He hit one four and one six, while Eric Turay also finished not out with 11 runs.

In Ghana's innings, Vincent Ateak was their best bowler, keeping it tight with figures of 2 overs, 8 runs, and 0 wickets. Oscar Harvey also took two wickets, giving away 16 runs.

Ghana had a tough time getting runs after choosing to bat first. Their innings ended at 85 runs for 8 wickets. Richmond Baaleri took one wicket for 11 runs in just 1.1 overs. Sierra Leone's bowlers kept Ghana's batting under control throughout the match.

Kamara was recognized as the Player of the Match for his key role in Sierra Leone's successful chase.

With this result, Sierra Leone now has two points from two matches. Ghana is still looking for their first point after losing both of their games in this four-team tournament.

The quadrangular series runs until September 27 and includes Nigeria, Nigeria A, Ghana, and Sierra Leone. The teams will play each other twice in a round-robin format.
