Ozonna Soludo, the first son of Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, is not your typical politician's child. Unlike many of his peers who prefer to stay out of the spotlight, Ozonna, known as “Baby Oku,” has chosen to stand out.
He is famous for his shirtless dance videos, unique fashion choices, and music career. His lively personality has helped him create a social media presence that sometimes gets as much attention as his father's political role.
With more than 100,000 followers on Instagram, Ozonna regularly posts dance videos, music clips, and lifestyle updates that spark talks among his fans and critics.
Recently, he caught people's attention again after sharing a video of himself dancing to a protest song that criticizes President Bola Tinubu’s government.
In the video, Ozonna wore a shirt linked to his father's campaign while dancing to lyrics that criticize Tinubu’s administration, even mentioning Governor Soludo. The lyrics included, “Tinubu, shame onto you, all power belongs to Jesus.”
The video spread quickly on social media, creating mixed reactions from Nigerians.
Although many know him through his father, Ozonna works hard to make a name for himself as an entertainer, not a politician. He returned to music in 2023 with his new single, Take It Slow, which renewed interest in his music.
Besides music, he also launched a business selling beads and jewelry. He creates handmade necklaces and other accessories, which he often shows off on his social media accounts.
His pages are filled with lively dance videos, funny clips, and personal expressions that young people relate to. His bold style, often shirtless and sporting unique hairstyles, makes him one of the most recognizable children of politicians online.
Ozonna is not afraid to respond to criticism about his looks and lifestyle. In a popular video from 2025, he addressed online trolls who mocked his fashion and content.
“I like myself, I like what I like. I am not here to suit your ego. I am not here to live according to your standard.
“The next time you write a paragraph or an essay about my life, maybe think about your life.
“I actually accept myself. I love and accept me. I put out what I like on my social media. I am not going to stop liking what I like,” he said.
In July 2025, Ozonna shared a fun moment with his father when Soludo joined him in a dance challenge for his single, Big Flex. They wore matching traditional beads and danced together in a video that quickly went viral, showing a fun side of the governor not often seen in politics.
Ozonna has always made it clear that his views are his own and should not be mixed up with his father's political opinions. Ahead of the 2023 elections, after getting involved in online political debates, he publicly distanced himself from party politics.
“I would appreciate not being dragged into this. I am not an extension of anybody. I have my own opinions and have always said I think Peter is the best candidate. All this has nothing to do with me,” he said.
This statement got a lot of attention as it showed his desire to keep his personal views separate from his father's political role.
Born on February 11, 1994, in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, Ozonna is the eldest of six children. He spent part of his childhood in the United States before moving to London to study Vocal Performance at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance.
Whether he is dancing to trending songs, releasing new music, promoting his bead business, or responding to critics, Ozonna has built a public identity that goes beyond just being the governor's son.
