Nigeria’s Super Falcons are ready to face Ghana’s Black Queens in a friendly match this Saturday. This game is part of their final preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations happening in Morocco.

The tournament is scheduled from July 19 to August 8. Nigeria aims to win the title they have claimed 10 times before.

The Falcons started their training camp in Casablanca on Monday. They are preparing for their first Group C match against Malawi in Rabat on July 20.

As of Tuesday afternoon, 10 players had made it to the team’s camp at the Marriott Hotel in Casablanca. Midfielder Toni Payne is expected to join the team on Wednesday.

Head coach Justine Madugu took the early arrivals to their first training session at Stade El Arbi Zaouli on Tuesday. Players in camp include captain Rasheedat Ajibade and goalkeepers Chiamaka Nnadozie and Fatima Oloko.

Defenders in the squad are Oluwatosin Demehin, Glory Ogbonna, Shukurat Oladipo, and Rofiat Imuran. Midfielder Jennifer Echegini, forward Asisat Oshoala, and Christy Ucheibe are also part of the team.

The match against Ghana, who finished second to Nigeria at the first edition of the tournament in 1998, will take place at Stade El Arbi Zaouli. The kickoff is at 4 p.m.

Nigeria will begin their WAFCON journey against Malawi. After that, they will face Zambia and Egypt in Group C.
