Benfica midfielder Christy Ucheibe and Al-Ittihad forward Francisca Ordega have joined the Super Falcons camp in Ikenne, Ogun State. They arrived on Wednesday morning for Nigeria's friendly matches against Senegal.
Alongside Ucheibe and Ordega, Glory Ogbonna, Blessing Nkor, Comfort Erhabor, and Sikiratu Isah also came in as the team prepares for the matches set for Friday and Monday.
The team's media officer, Mary Akinsola, reported that eight players came into camp on Tuesday evening. Those players are Joy Omewa, Tosin Demehin, Toni Payne, Blessing Ilivieda, Folashade Ijamilusi, Anderline Mgbechi, Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene, and Omorinsola Babajide.
They joined early arrivals Shukurat Oladipo, Kafayat Shittu, and six-time CAF Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala. This brings the total number of players in camp to 17.
The Super Falcons will play Senegal in both matches at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne. These friendlies are part of Nigeria's preparation for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) scheduled in Morocco in July.
More players and officials are expected to join the camp as the team works towards full strength. They are gearing up for these important matches against the Senegalese side.
Nigeria hopes to win their 11th WAFCON title in Morocco and secure a spot at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
