The Super Falcons camp in Ikenne, Ogun State, is buzzing with activity as 11 players arrived by Tuesday evening. They are getting ready for two friendly matches against Senegal.

Among the first to arrive on Monday were six-time African Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala, Serie A Women’s Best Defender Shukurat Oladipo, and Kafayat Shittu from Turkey. On Tuesday, eight more players joined them.

Players who came in on Tuesday include Joy Omewa from Nottingham Forest Women, defender Tosin Demehin from Galatasaray, midfielder Toni Payne, Blessing Nkor, Folashade Ijamilusi from China, goalkeeper Anderline Mgbechi, experienced midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene, and striker Omorinsola Babajide from Roma.

Head coach Justine Madugu called up 23 players for these friendlies. These matches will help the team prepare for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The tournament will run from July 25 to August 16.

As 10-time African champions, the Super Falcons will play against Egypt, Zambia, and Malawi, who are making their debut in Group C.

Before the tournament, the Super Falcons will face Senegal on Friday, June 5. The second match is set for Monday, June 8. Both matches will take place at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne-Remo.

More players are expected to join the camp soon as the team steps up preparations for the two friendly matches.
