National football federations are spending big money to win the World Cup. Brazil’s coach Carlo Ancelotti is the highest-paid coach at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to salary figures released before the tournament, Ancelotti makes £8.28 million each year. This puts him well ahead of the other coaches in the tournament.
The former Real Madrid manager recently took over Brazil’s team. He is expected to lead the South American side as they aim for a record sixth World Cup title.
England’s manager Thomas Tuchel comes in second. He earns £5.06 million a year. The German coach was hired by the Football Association after England’s near wins under Gareth Southgate. He is expected to help the team finally win a major international title.
United States coach Mauricio Pochettino ranks third with an annual salary of £4.53 million. The Argentine, who has coached Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain, and Chelsea, will lead the host nation in the tournament.
Germany’s Julian Nagelsmann is fourth, earning £4.20 million each year. Portugal’s coach Roberto Martinez and Uzbekistan’s Fabio Cannavaro are tied for fifth place, each making £3.5 million.
People are noticing Cannavaro’s high salary since Uzbekistan is not one of the stronger football nations. The former Italy captain was hired after Uzbekistan qualified for their first-ever World Cup.
France’s manager Didier Deschamps, who led his country to World Cup victory in 2018, earns £3.31 million per year. He is seventh on the list.
The World Cup-winning Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni, Uruguay’s Marcelo Bielsa, and Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman round out the top 10. Each of them earns £2.61 million annually.
