WBC Champion Suggests Itauma's Next Fight Against Knyba

British-Nigerian boxer Moses Itauma should focus on a fight with Damian Knyba as he aims for a world title shot. This is the opinion of WBC champion Agit Kabayel, who missed a chance to fight Itauma in a unification match.

Itauma, just 21 years old, faced a shocking defeat last month. He was stopped by Filip Hrgovic in the ninth round during their world title fight.

Itauma had been dominating the match at the O2 Arena. He looked set for his 11th straight knockout after knocking Hrgovic down in the second round.

The judges scored the fight in Itauma's favor after the first eight rounds. Sadly, he ended up needing oxygen as he was carried out of the ring on a stretcher.

Now, attention is shifting to Itauma's next opponent as he tries to bounce back from his first professional loss. Kabayel believes Itauma should fight Knyba, one of his previous opponents.

Knyba is a Polish heavyweight who has won 18 out of 19 professional fights. Eleven of those wins came by knockout.

His only loss was to Kabayel when they battled for the interim WBC title in January. Kabayel won that match with a stoppage in the third round.

After Oleksandr Usyk gave up his WBC, WBA, and IBF titles in June, Kabayel moved up from interim to full champion.

Recently, Knyba got back to winning after defeating former unified champion Andy Ruiz Jr in New Jersey.

Ruiz Jr., known for beating Anthony Joshua in June 2019 before losing the rematch, ended the fight with a black eye after a tough 12 rounds.
