Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has called Spain and France the strongest teams in the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
Yamal is confident that La Roja can defeat the French team in their semi-final match.
He made these comments during a press conference on Monday, just ahead of Tuesday’s last-four game.
“Ever since the tournament started, many people have been hoping for this match.
“For me, these are the two best teams at this World Cup. We’re not afraid. If anyone can beat France, it’s us,” Yamal said.
Spain has been one of the standout teams in the tournament, reaching the semi-finals after knocking out Belgium in the quarter-finals.
France also made it to the last four by winning against Morocco, setting the stage for a highly anticipated match.
Both European giants have been favorites to win the tournament. Spain aims to add a second World Cup title to the one they secured in 2010. France is looking to win the trophy for the third time after their victories in 1998 and 2018.
Tuesday’s match will decide which team moves on to the World Cup final. The winner will face the team that comes out on top in the other semi-final.
