The transfer chase for Super Eagles stars, Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke, is picking up speed this summer. Italian club, Venezia, is close to signing the Sevilla striker, while Saudi Arabian teams are showing strong interest in the winger.

Adams scored ten goals and provided three assists in 32 games last season, helping Sevilla avoid relegation. He has been linked with a move away from the Spanish club, as Sevilla looks to sell him this summer.

Marseille and Sunderland were seen as possible destinations for him, but both clubs have lost interest. Despite this, Adams prefers to stay at Sevilla for now.

Venezia has been active in their pursuit. The newly promoted Serie A team made an initial bid of less than €10m, which is far below Sevilla’s €25m asking price. Sevilla rejected the offer immediately. Even with this setback, the Italian side is still talking. According to Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, they have agreed with Adams on personal terms, including his salary and contract details.

The main issue now is the transfer fee with Sevilla. The Spanish club is sticking to their asking price. This could be a tough challenge for Venezia because of their limited budget and the pressure to prepare for next season’s relegation fight. If both clubs can agree on a fee, the deal could be wrapped up in a few weeks, especially with pre-season training starting soon.

On the other hand, Sevilla might also sell Ejuke before the new season kicks off. Saudi Arabian clubs are leading the chase for him. Sevilla started their summer transfer activities on July 1. They need to raise funds after a failed takeover bid and must make space for new signings.

Teams from Qatar are also looking at the 28-year-old, but the Saudi clubs have more financial power to offer a better deal for both Sevilla and Ejuke. Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen, along with Premier League teams Fulham, Sunderland, and Leeds United, are also interested.

Sevilla values Ejuke between €4m and €5m. He has just one year left on his contract, which expires in June 2027. Since he joined Sevilla as a free agent from CSKA Moscow, any transfer fee would be pure profit for the club. Sevilla aims to raise around €25m from player sales this summer.

Ejuke, earning nearly €1.9m a season, showed his talent in his first season in Spain. He stood out for his speed and dribbling, especially in a great match against Real Sociedad late last season. But injuries and inconsistent form limited him to just one goal and one assist in 29 La Liga matches.

Unless a European club matches the financial offer expected from Saudi Arabia, Sevilla is likely to accept any official bid for the Nigerian international.
