Venezia's Talks with Sevilla for Akor Adams Heat Up

Venezia, a newly promoted team in Serie A, is pushing hard to sign Super Eagles striker Akor Adams. The Italian club is meeting with Sevilla in Spain to discuss the deal, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Venezia's sporting director, Filippo Antonelli, traveled to Spain on Thursday. He is having direct talks with Sevilla officials as the negotiations reach an important stage.

Adams, who is 26 years old, has become Venezia’s main target as they prepare for the new Serie A season. The club is eager to finalize the deal after weeks of back and forth.

He joined Sevilla from Montpellier in January 2025 and had a strong first full season in Spain. Adams scored 10 goals in 32 matches across all competitions, making him the club’s top scorer in La Liga, even though the team had a tough season.

Venezia has reportedly upped their offer to €12 million, while Sevilla is looking for around €15 million. There is still no agreement yet, but the gap between the two clubs has narrowed.

While the transfer talks continue, Adams returned to pre-season training with Sevilla on Friday. He trained under new manager Luis García Plaza alongside teammates, including fellow Nigerian Chidera Ejuke, as they get ready for the upcoming season.

It seems Venezia has also agreed on personal terms with Adams for a contract running until June 2030. But they are still working out the transfer fee with Sevilla.

Sevilla is said to be willing to lower their asking price because they need to improve their financial situation and meet La Liga's financial rules.

Even though Adams has said his focus is on Sevilla, there is still uncertainty about his future as the talks between the clubs continue.

If Venezia meets Sevilla’s asking price, this transfer would be the most expensive in the history of the Italian club.

Adams started his European career in Norway with Sogndal before moving to Lillestrøm. His performances there led him to Montpellier, and then he made the move to Sevilla in January 2025.
