Ajayi wins battle against Awoniyi in Nigerian showdown

Awoniyi's best chance lacked power, and a deflection off his thigh sent the ball goalward instead of a clean shot. As they searched for their first win in the division since April 2001, Coventry also showed weaknesses at the back.

After ignoring an earlier chance when Millar missed a pass to Belloumi, Coventry paid the price when the roles switched. Belloumi made the right pass this time, and Hull seized the opportunity.
