Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has denied reports that he might leave Sevilla this summer. He said he is happy at the Spanish club and is not thinking about transfer rumors as the window opens, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
The 26-year-old is currently with the Nigeria team getting ready for a friendly match against Portugal in Leiria on Wednesday. He was reacting to news from Spain that he could be one of the players leaving the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán this summer.
Marseille is seen as the main team interested in him. The Ligue 1 club is reportedly planning to make an offer around €18 million for the Nigerian. But Sevilla is said to value him closer to €25 million and is in no rush to sell.
“I have not heard anything about that, but this is the transfer window, and there will always be many rumours,” Adams told Footy-Africa. “It is not something that is important to me at the moment. I have a contract with Sevilla, and we have just come through a difficult season, so now is not really the time to focus on such things. It all depends on what happens, but I am happy at Sevilla. Rumours are part of football, but it is not something I am thinking about right now.”
Adams joined Sevilla from Montpellier in January. His first few months at the club were tough, as he did not score or provide an assist. However, the 2025/26 season was much better for him. The forward scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 32 matches. He played a key role in helping Sevilla stay in La Liga and became one of the more reliable players on a team that spent much of the season fighting to avoid relegation.
His impressive performance has caught the eye of clubs in England, Saudi Arabia, and France. Marseille, looking to challenge for the title next season, has made Adams a key target for their summer plans. His past experience in French football with Montpellier is seen as a plus, as it would make his transition easier compared to moving from outside Ligue 1.
La Liga’s strict financial rules make Sevilla's situation more complicated. The club must earn a lot from player sales before they can sign new players. This pressure may force them to consider offers if the right one comes in. For now, Adams is focused on his international responsibilities, with Sevilla showing no hurry to let him go.
