Belgian club Anderlecht have put in a €3.5m (around N5.5bn) offer for Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke. He is expected to leave Sevilla this summer, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
Ejuke, 28, learned that he is not part of Sevilla’s plans. He has one year left on his contract, but the club is ready to sell him for about €3m.
He started pre-season training with Sevilla but was not included in their squad for the tour of the Netherlands. This shows he has no future with coach Gracia Plaza.
Spanish outlet Vamos Sevilla reports that Anderlecht want to boost their team as they prepare to compete with Belgian Pro League teams Union SG and Club Brugge.
Ejuke has experience in Belgium. He played for Antwerp during the 2023/24 season, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 29 league games.
He joined Sevilla from Antwerp on a free transfer two years ago. Since then, he has scored just three goals and made two assists in 52 games for the Spanish side.
But Anderlecht is not the only club interested in Ejuke. Saudi Arabian clubs are also looking at him and might offer a better deal. With the transfer window still open, Anderlecht’s €3.5m offer could be a significant step towards Ejuke’s next move.
