Saudi Arabian club Al Diriyah is readying a better offer to persuade Turkish team Besiktas to sell Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi this summer. PUNCH Sports Extra has the details.
Turkish sports paper Fanatik reports that Al Diriyah wants to sign Ndidi after their first bid of €7 million got turned down by Besiktas. They are now working on a higher offer to boost their midfield options.
Ndidi has become an important player for Besiktas since he moved from Leicester City last summer. His experience, leadership, and strong defensive skills have made him a key part of the team.
He showed his value in Besiktas' recent 1-0 win against FC Hradec Kralove at the Malsovicka Arena in the UEFA Conference League qualifier. Ndidi, back from injury, came on in the second half and quickly made a difference by assisting Semih Kilicsoy’s winning goal late in the match.
His steady performances have caught the attention of several clubs, and there is increasing talk about the Nigerian midfielder moving to Saudi Arabia.
On the other hand, Besiktas seems to be getting ready for Ndidi's potential exit. Reports say the Turkish club is in discussions to sign Ivory Coast midfielder Franck Kessie on a free transfer.
