Arsenal could land Osimhen with £60m offer

As talks about Victor Osimhen moving to Arsenal heat up, Football Insider says an offer of over £60m might convince Galatasaray to sell the Nigerian striker, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

Arsenal has been eyeing Osimhen for a while and could make a solid bid for him soon.

Recent reports suggest Arsenal asked about Osimhen's availability while discussing Gabriel Martinelli's possible transfer to Galatasaray.

But the £60m deal for Osimhen is expected to be separate from any deal involving Martinelli.

"Any deal to take him to the Emirates Stadium would likely be done separately from Martinelli heading the other way," Football Insider reported.

"As noted on the latest episode of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Arsenal needs to offer over £60m to have a chance of signing Osimhen this summer."

The 27-year-old signed a four-year contract with Galatasaray last summer. He had a great first season, scoring 28 goals in 33 matches.

If the transfer happens, Osimhen would likely become Arsenal’s highest-paid player. He currently earns over £300,000 each week at Galatasaray.

Earlier this week, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said the club would stay active in the transfer market. He wants to strengthen the team before the transfer deadline. He has talked about taking the team to "a new dimension."

"There is more that we want to do because every time we have an opportunity to improve the squad and bring more quality and depth to the squad, we need to do that," Arteta said.

"We are actively trying to do so. The thing in the market is that it doesn’t just depend on you. We are very clear on that."

Osimhen himself has not ruled out a move. After scoring twice in Galatasaray’s Super Lig opener on Friday, he told reporters in Turkey, "There are always rumours in transfer seasons."

"I will take care of my business. I am focused on my job, then we will see and think further."
