Nollywood actress and businesswoman, Carolyna Hutchings, has said she is done with the reality TV show, The Real Housewives of Lagos. She wants to move on and be left out of anything related to the show.
Hutchings, who came back for the third season after taking a break from Season 2, shared this in a long post on Instagram on Monday.
The actress was part of the original cast when the show started in 2022. She expressed that she is tired of being linked to the drama of other cast members, even after the show has ended.
She mentioned that her time on the show has affected how people see her career, personal life, and relationships. She believes this is unfair because she has a life and career outside the reality show.
“It is exhausting being part of a reality TV show in Nigeria,” Hutchings wrote.
She added that she has spent over 20 years in the entertainment field. She has acted in more than 60 films, produced three award-winning movies, and created jobs for many people.
Although she enjoys acting and storytelling, she called herself an “extreme introvert.” She is careful about who she lets into her personal space.
Hutchings also talked about rumors regarding her relationship with other cast members. She said she does not see any of them as friends outside the show.
“I have said this several times, but apparently it needs to be said again: No cast member of RHOL is my friend, not on the show, not after the show,” she said.
She explained that her kindness should not be seen as friendship. Friends from before the show know why some of those relationships ended.
Hutchings feels it is unfair for the show, which ended in early 2025, to still define her in 2026.
“What I find unfair is that a show that ended in the first two months of 2025 is still being used to define who I am in 2026,” she said.
She has made it clear during the show, on social media, and in interviews that she does not form cliques on RHOLagos.
“If I have an issue with someone, I address that person directly, as I have always done fearlessly. That is how I have lived my life,” she added.
Hutchings also complained about being pulled into fights between other cast members. She said that videos and posts not related to the show have been used to link her to their controversies.
She asked the public and bloggers to stop tying her to the personal lives and disputes of other cast members.
“The show is over for me. I have moved on,” Hutchings declared.
“I am living my life. I am doing what I love. I am happy. I am enjoying my reality. I am building a legacy my children will be proud of.”
She described her time on RHOLagos as a chapter she enjoyed but said it is now closed.
“The show was a chapter of my life that I enjoyed. That chapter is closed. It is a new dawn, and I believe it is leading to something even more beautiful,” she said.
However, Hutchings did not completely rule out returning to the show in the future. She said that decision would be hers alone.
“If I decide to return for another season, trust me, I will deliver excellently, as I always do whether as the saint or the villain,” she said.
The actress thanked the producers, Showmax, and Africa Magic for the chance to be part of the show. She called the experience memorable.
“I remain forever grateful to the producers, the amazing streaming platform Showmax and African Magic. Working with you all on your maiden edition of RHOL was simply amazing. It was also fun working with you all in season 3,” she said.
Hutchings finished by asking everyone to respect her choice to move on from the show.
“But for now… let me enjoy my reality in peace,” she said.
“Leave me out of the drama.”
