Super Falcons midfielder Christy Ucheibe has left Benfica in Portugal to join Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia. She will play alongside her fellow Nigerian player Asisat Oshoala in the upcoming 2026/27 season, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
The 25-year-old signed a two-year deal with Al Hilal that lasts until the summer of 2028 after her contract with Benfica ended.
Ucheibe spent six years at Benfica, making 91 appearances. During her time there, she helped the team stay on top of women's football in Portugal. She also won many domestic titles while in Lisbon.
Before joining Benfica, she played for Assi IF in Sweden and Nasarawa Amazons in Nigeria. At Benfica, she became an important player for the team.
Now at Al Hilal, Ucheibe will reunite with Oshoala. Oshoala has been with Al Hilal since leaving Bay FC in America last year.
Ucheibe made her debut for the Super Falcons in 2022 and has since played 32 matches, scoring three goals. She was also part of Nigeria’s team that won the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Known for her energy and physicality, Ucheibe can play in midfield or at centre-back. She aims to make a strong impact as Al Hilal competes with Al Nassr for the top spot in Saudi women’s football.
