Samuel Chukwueze’s agents are working hard to bring him back to Spain before the summer transfer window closes.
The 27-year-old has returned to AC Milan after a loan spell at Fulham in the Premier League last season. He still wants to prove himself at the San Siro under new coach Ruben Amorim.
Chukwueze showed some of his skills in England, but Fulham chose not to make his loan permanent. This decision sent him back to Milan as the new season approaches.
He has been playing well in pre-season and hopes to impress Amorim. But now his focus is shifting back to Spain, where he had a great time with Villarreal, according to Fichajes.
His representatives have already talked to several La Liga clubs. Real Betis and Celta Vigo are among those who have shown interest in him for a long time.
AC Milan is open to offers but they want a good price for him. The Italian club prefers a full transfer but insists that any interested teams must meet their asking price, which makes talks complicated.
Amorim has also pointed out how important Chukwueze is to the team since he took over. He likes the winger’s ability to take on defenders one-on-one.
“There are some players who weren’t here last year. Chukwueze is staying with us; we need players who can play one-on-one,” Amorim said, according to SempreMilan.
Chukwueze played six seasons at Villarreal, making 207 appearances and scoring 37 goals. He became one of the best wingers in La Liga. In the league alone, he had 155 appearances, 21 goals, and 14 assists.
His biggest moment came on the big stage in Europe. During the 2020/21 season with Unai Emery, he helped Villarreal win their first UEFA Europa League by beating Manchester United on penalties in Gdańsk.
As the transfer window deadline approaches, Chukwueze is now faced with a tough choice. He must decide whether to keep fighting for a spot at Milan or return to the league where he first made a name for himself.
