CS Sfaxien lands in Nigeria for match against Shooting Stars

Tunisian team CS Sfaxien has touched down in Nigeria for their CAF Confederation Cup first-leg match against Shooting Stars this Saturday.

The North African team left Tunis on Tuesday and arrived in Nigeria early Wednesday. They are getting ready for the preliminary-round match.

Sfaxien will face the Oluyole Warriors at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta. The visitors are looking for a good result to take back to Tunisia for the second leg.

Shooting Stars want to use their home advantage against the Tunisian team. They just kicked off their 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season with a 2-1 win over Inter Lagos last Friday.

That victory gave coach Salisu Yusuf a great start to the new league season. It also boosted the Oluyole Warriors' confidence ahead of this important match.

Sfaxien has also started their league season with a win, beating Esperance Zarzis 2-1 in their last match in Tunisia.

The game on Saturday is the first leg of this tie. The return match will be held in Sfax on September 13.

Shooting Stars aim to build a strong lead in Abeokuta before heading to Tunisia for the second leg.

The team that wins over the two matches will move on to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
