Shooting Stars from Ibadan won 1-0 against CS Sfaxien from Tunisia in their CAF Confederation Cup match at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta on Saturday.
Lucky Emmanuel scored the only goal of the match in the 25th minute. This goal gave the Nigerian team a well-deserved lead before halftime.
CS Sfaxien came out strong in the second half. They put a lot of pressure on Shooting Stars, trying to find an equaliser. But the goalkeeper was really good and kept them from scoring.
The Shooting Stars defence held firm. They frustrated the Tunisian attackers and did not allow them to break through.
As the match went on, Shooting Stars had chances to increase their lead. But they could not turn those chances into goals.
This win gives Shooting Stars a good advantage as they prepare for the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup journey next weekend.
