Diamond Platnumz shares photo of mystery woman after Zuchu confirms their split

Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz has stirred up social media after posting a picture of an unknown woman on his Instagram Stories. This happened just 48 hours after his partner, Zuchu, said they are separating and going through a divorce.

The singer, whose real name is Naseeb Abdul Juma, wrote “Natulizana” on the post. This Swahili phrase means “we are at peace”. He did not name the woman or give more details. The timing of this post has led to much speculation among fans, coming right after Zuchu [Link: Zuchu’s Instagram] confirmed the end of their six-year relationship.

Zuchu announces separation

On Sunday, Zuchu, whose real name is Zuhura Othman Soud, shared on her Instagram Stories that she and Diamond had separated. She explained that they are now in the process of getting a divorce and that she is focusing on her personal well-being.

“My husband and I are now separated and going through a divorce. After six years of being together, I have finally decided to choose myself. I wish Naseeb Abdul and his family all the best. As for me, I need time to heal, focus on my health and continue with my work and music,” she wrote.

Her post came after days of rumors about their relationship, especially after she did not attend Diamond’s mother’s birthday party, Sandra Kassim, known as Mama Dangote. The announcement also followed unverified claims from someone close to Diamond that Zuchu was pregnant, which she did not address in her statement.

Diamond’s social media activity

Less than two days after Zuchu’s announcement, Diamond posted the image of the mystery woman. Although the post did not confirm any relationship, it created a lot of buzz online, with many people connecting the timing to their breakup.

Diamond has not publicly replied to Zuchu’s statement or the online chatter. Notably, Zari Hassan, Diamond’s ex and mother of two of his children, has praised Zuchu for how she has handled the situation.

A high-profile relationship

Diamond and Zuchu’s relationship has drawn public attention since rumors of their romance started in 2021, shortly after Zuchu signed with Diamond’s WCB Wasafi record label.

The couple confirmed their relationship publicly and went through several breakups and reconciliations. In November 2024, Zuchu announced a split, but they got back together weeks later. By June 2025, Diamond was calling Zuchu his wife after reports of a private Islamic wedding.

Both artists are among East Africa’s most successful stars, with their endorsement deals and concert fees often in the billions of ₦aira. Diamond has played a big part in shaping the careers of many stars through WCB Wasafi, while Zuchu, the daughter of famous taarab singer Khadija Kopa, has become one of the continent’s top female talents with hits like Sukari, Kwikwi, and Napambana.
