Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has sacked all technical advisers and directors-general of government agencies with immediate effect.
The officials who have been removed must submit their handover notes to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
This information was shared in a statement released on Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Olayinka Oyebode.
The statement said, “The disengagement, which came barely 24 hours after the dissolution of the State Executive Council, marks the completion of the disengagement process for political appointees serving in the administration, except for a few whose appointments have been retained in view of the nature of their assignments.”
Oyebanji thanked the affected DGs and TAs “for their support, commitment and contributions to the administration as well as the development of Ekiti State.”
The governor also wished them well in their future plans.
This decision comes as Oyebanji prepares for his second term, which starts on October 16.
PUNCH Online reported that on September 27, the governor had already dissolved boards, commissions, and parastatals and ended the appointments of other political aides, while the DGs and technical advisers were not included in that move.
