The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) shared N3.18 trillion and N3.40 trillion with the three levels of government in May and June 2026, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The NBS released these figures on Friday. The amount given in June was about N210.68 billion more than in May.
In total, N6.58 trillion was allocated through FAAC over the two months.
The NBS data showed that in June, the Federal Government got N818.68 billion, the states received N759.14 billion, and the 774 local government councils got N534.28 billion.
Oil-producing states also got N188.13 billion as their 13 percent derivation allocation.
The June amount included N380.31 billion in statutory allocation and N378.83 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT) for the states.
Local governments received N293.20 billion in statutory allocation and N241.07 billion from VAT.
The Federal Government got N749.80 billion in statutory allocation and N68.88 billion from VAT.
The NBS data also noted several transfers and deductions. These included N266 billion for the Infrastructure Development Fund for states, N500 billion for the National Security Emergency Fund, and N100 billion as tax refund to the Nigeria Revenue Service.
In May, the three levels of government received N3.18 trillion through FAAC.
The Federal Government received N787.35 billion, states got N772.36 billion, and local governments received N540.15 billion.
Oil-producing states received N157.25 billion as their 13 percent derivation.
The May allocation also included N252 billion for the Infrastructure Development Fund for states and N250 billion for the Military Intervention Fund.
Another N200 billion was sent to the Non-Oil Excess Revenue Account, while N50 billion went to the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority.
The increase in May and June followed a gross revenue of N3.18 trillion recorded for April 2026.
PREMIUM TIMES reported in June that FAAC shared N2.257 trillion from the April revenue among the Federal Government, states, and local governments.
The April allocation included N1.260 trillion in distributable statutory revenue, N747.09 billion in VAT, and N250 billion in augmentation.
The April amount benefited from higher receipts from Companies Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Stamp Duties, import duty, oil and gas royalties, and VAT. But collections of Petroleum Profit Tax and Hydrocarbon Tax fell.
The latest figures show that some of the money from FAAC went to special funds and transfers before sharing the remaining revenue.
In May, N250 billion was allocated to the Military Intervention Fund and N252 billion to the Infrastructure Development Fund for states.
In June, another N500 billion went to the National Security Emergency Fund, while N266 billion was allocated to the Infrastructure Development Fund for states.
So, the two months accounted for N518 billion in allocations to the states’ Infrastructure Development Fund.
The figures also show that N750 billion was sent to security-related funds in May and June. This included N250 billion for the Military Intervention Fund and N500 billion for the National Security Emergency Fund.
The NBS data comes as there is a general increase in Federation Account revenues in the first half of 2026. An analysis of FAAC records published in August showed that gross FAAC revenue reached N18.72 trillion between January and June. N12.59 trillion was actually distributed after deductions for savings, interventions, refunds, transfers, and collection costs.
States received N4.47 trillion in general FAAC allocations during the first half of the year. Local governments got N3.13 trillion, according to the analysis.
