Galatasaray has finished paying Napoli the full €75 million for Super Eagles captain Victor Osimhen. They settled the last payment of €17.5 million, ending a long payment plan, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The deal started in July 2025 and was split into different payments. Galatasaray paid €40 million upfront. The rest was split into two payments of €17.5 million each, with the last payment due by the end of 2026.
Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük reported that finishing the last payment early puts Galatasaray in a better position for negotiations in the summer transfer window. They have cleared all debts related to Osimhen’s signing.
Osimhen’s transfer to Galatasaray is now the most expensive in Turkish football history. It is much higher than Fenerbahce’s €20 million deal for Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla.
The deal included a 10 percent clause. This means Napoli will get a share of any future profit if Osimhen is sold. There is also an anti-Italy clause. Galatasaray must pay double if Osimhen joins a Serie A club before 2027. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis added this to stop Osimhen from playing for a rival.
The relationship between Osimhen and Napoli fell apart after the 2022/23 season. He helped Napoli win the Serie A title after 33 years and was the league's top scorer with 26 goals.
Even after signing a big contract in December 2023, which made him the highest-paid player in Napoli’s history, things got rough in the 2023/24 season. Napoli turned down a $170 million offer from Al Ahli. This made the gap wider. He then moved to Galatasaray on loan for the 2024/25 season, scoring 37 goals and giving eight assists across all competitions. This was the best single-season performance in the club’s recent history.
His success made Galatasaray want to sign him permanently. After weeks of arguments about payment methods and demands for banking guarantees from Napoli, the transfer was completed in July 2025. Osimhen signed a four-year contract worth about €15 million net per season, plus bonuses and image rights payments.
In his first full season, the 27-year-old scored 22 goals and made eight assists in 33 games across all competitions. He helped Galatasaray win their fourth straight Süper Lig title and reach the UEFA Champions League round of 16.
Even though Galatasaray has finished the payment, there are still questions about Osimhen’s future. Real Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich have all shown interest in the striker in recent months.
