Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has asked fans, colleagues, and well-wishers to keep praying for Taiwo Hassan, better known as Ogogo. He explained why the family cannot move him to other facilities despite many offers for spiritual and medical help.

In a statement on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Kosoko thanked everyone for their overwhelming support on behalf of Ogogo’s family and colleagues.

He made it clear that Ogogo’s current medical condition makes it impossible to move him from the hospital where he is receiving care.

“We have received offers from more than 300, and even over 500 people, each sincerely believing that they have something that could help him,” Kosoko said.

“The challenge is simply: Where do we take him to? And how do we move him from the hospital while he is receiving care?”

Kosoko addressed those who offered traditional, spiritual, or specialized treatments. He asked them not to feel offended or disappointed by the family’s inability to bring Ogogo to them.

“Please, do not feel offended or disappointed if we are unable to bring Ogogo to you for spiritual assistance or treatment. It is extremely difficult to move him from the hospital to different locations at this stage of his treatment, especially considering the large number of people who have offered to help.”

“Please understand that our inability to bring him to anyone does not mean that we do not appreciate you, nor does it mean that we doubt your intentions or your desire to help,” he added.

“On the contrary, we are deeply touched by the overwhelming love and concern that people across the world have shown towards him.

“Therefore, we encourage you to continue doing whatever you can from your respective locations and comfort zones. Keep praying. Keep supporting us. Keep believing with us.”

This statement comes after public concern over Ogogo’s health. His daughters, Shakira and Haleemah Hassan, shared an emotional video online revealing that their father is fighting stage-four cancer.

According to PUNCH, their earlier plea about the difficulties in getting proper specialized care led to a strong wave of support from the film industry and social media. Nollywood stars like Femi Adebayo and Toyin Abraham have actively helped to mobilize support.

A medical doctor has pointed out that stage-four cancer care focuses on managing pain and improving quality of life. He warned well-wishers against suggesting unverified herbal remedies that could worsen Ogogo's condition.

Kosoko's update confirms that Ogogo is still under direct hospital care. He urged the public to continue showing their support through prayer.
