The management of Jigawa Golden Stars Football Club has rejected a mistake on its new jersey. The jersey incorrectly says “Kano League Club” instead of the club's real name.
Ibrahim Isyaku, the club’s Public Relations Officer, shared this in a statement on Thursday in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State.
Isyaku mentioned that the management did not know about the mistake before they revealed the jersey.
“We wish to state clearly that Jigawa Golden Stars FC is not aware of this error and had no prior knowledge of the said inscription before the unveiling,” he said.
He added that the management has started looking into the issue and will take the right steps to fix it.
“Appropriate measures will be taken to address the error and ensure the correct branding of our official kits,” he stated.
He assured the club’s fans, supporters, and the people of Jigawa State about their commitment to representing the state well.
“We reassure our many fans, supporters, and the good people of Jigawa State that Jigawa Golden Stars FC remains fully committed to representing the state with pride and integrity,” he added.
Isyaku also asked supporters to stay calm as the management works on correcting the mistake and restoring the club’s name.
