Chelsea's Joao Pedro is the top scorer in the Premier League's pre-season. He has shown his skills ahead of the new season starting on Friday.
The EPL website reported on Monday that the Brazilian scored seven goals during Chelsea’s pre-season matches. This includes a stunning hat-trick in just nine minutes against Western Sydney Wanderers. He also scored two goals each against AC Milan and Real Sociedad.
Next on the list is Aston Villa's 17-year-old Brian Madjo, who has netted five goals. He also scored against Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup. Sadly, he missed Villa’s last friendly against Borussia Monchengladbach because of an injury.
Nottingham Forest’s Igor Jesus and Crystal Palace’s Matheus Franca have both scored four goals. Jesus got all his goals in July and did not play against Stade Brestois 29. Franca scored three of his goals against Swindon Town.
With the Premier League kicking off on Friday, August 21, these pre-season stats show which players are in good form.
Tzolis leads in assists for Premier League pre-season
Arsenal's new signing Christos Tzolis has made the most assists in the Premier League during pre-season. He has six assists as the new season approaches.
Tzolis provided two assists in Arsenal’s Community Shield win against Manchester City. He also got a “Fantasy assist” by winning a penalty against Borussia Dortmund.
Following him is Manchester City’s Antoine Semenyo with five assists from four matches. Aston Villa’s Emiliano Buendia is next with four assists.
These numbers give an early look at players who might shine when the Premier League starts on Friday, August 21.
