Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are set to share nearly $200 million (£151 million) for their fight on December 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. However, no one has confirmed the exact figures yet.

The BBC reports that both heavyweights from Britain will divide the money about equally, with each getting around $100 million (£75 million). Earlier reports suggested they would each receive £100 million.

The Times mentioned that Fury wanted a larger share, and it took time to agree on the 50-50 split. Each fighter's previous highest earnings were around £65 million ($85 million).

Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, stated that Joshua accepted a pay cut of over £10 million ($13 million) to keep the fight in the UK. Turki Alalshikh from Saudi Arabia, UFC chief Dana White, and Netflix wanted the fight at Madison Square Garden in New York.

“To keep it in the UK, he (Joshua) has got to turn down eight figures plus,” Hearn explained.

The fight will take place in Cardiff because of the stadium's retractable roof. Promoter Frank Warren said the money was a big reason the fight is happening.

“It is huge, huge purses. Massive money. The highest of their careers, I should think the highest of any British fighter’s career, ever,” he told SunSport.

Around 80,000 tickets sold out in about an hour on October 9, with over 500,000 people in the Ticketmaster queue. Ticket prices ranged from £88.50 to £13,128, including fees.

Dana White said the gate is expected to be about $34 million, which he called a British record. Netflix members will not have to pay extra to watch the fight.

For comparison, the second fight between Fury and Oleksandr Usyk in 2024 was reported to be worth about $190 million in total, but the split has not been disclosed. Neither promoter has shared details about purses, and the Netflix fee, sponsorship, and undercard money have not been reported.

The fighters are expected to make their ring walks around 1am on December 12.
