Kano Pillars will try to stop Doma United’s perfect start to the 2026/27 season when they meet at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.
The newly promoted Doma United lead the table with nine points from three matches. They have scored five goals and not conceded any. Coach Deji Ayeni’s team began with a 2-0 win over Sporting Lagos, then edged Inter Lagos 1-0, and recently stunned former champions Enyimba 2-0. They are the only team with a perfect record so far.
Kano Pillars, known as Masu Gida, are in seventh place with four points from two games. They drew 2-2 away to Kwara United before winning 3-2 against Niger Tornadoes. Their defence has not kept a clean sheet yet.
This gives the home team a clear target for the match. Whoever scores first will be the first to breach Doma United’s defence this season. Playing at home could give them an advantage.
Doma United have been strong after their promotion and want to keep the momentum going. A win at Kano would close the gap at the top of the table, while a victory for Doma would show their strong start.
