Katsina Minister Promises Support for Tinubu in 2027 Elections

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Muttaqha Darma, has said that voters in Katsina State will back President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

He made this statement on Sunday during the opening of the Arewa for Asiwaju Group, also called A4A, in Katsina.

Darma is also the chairman of the Katsina State Coordination Committee. The group has declared its support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Darma explained that the group was set up to rally support for Tinubu’s government and to share its achievements with people in Northern Nigeria.

He stated, “This initiative was conceived by prominent Nigerians, including the National Security Adviser, former governors, ministers and former government officials.

“This group has the responsibility of coordinating and documenting the Federal Government’s projects and interventions across Northern Nigeria.

“The main goal of Arewa for Asiwaju is that there is a government office called Office for the Coordination of Northern Projects of this government.

“This office has the specific task of putting together what this government did for Northern Nigeria. Now that office also felt it wise that it’s not only to coordinate the activities of the government in Northern Nigeria, but to also pull out an organisation that will go to all parts of Northern Nigeria and tell the people what this government did for Northern Nigeria, and our votes are only meant for him,” he said.

Darma mentioned that the group would take its message to various parts of the region. They aim to explain what he called the achievements of the Tinubu administration.

He pointed out that the main purpose of the Katsina meeting was to officially launch the state coordination committee, which includes chosen personalities from the state.

Regarding the 2027 elections, Darma said the group members are dedicated to supporting Tinubu. “Our votes for Tinubu in 2027 are non-negotiable.”
