Keeper Scores Twice in Historic Draw for Telstar

Goalkeeper Ronald Koeman Jr scored two goals, including a last-minute penalty, to help Telstar draw 2-2 with Cambuur in the Eredivisie.

On Sunday, BBC Sport reported that the 31-year-old, son of former Netherlands defender and coach Ronald Koeman, scored two penalties as Telstar battled back after going down to 10 men in the 22nd minute.

After the red card, Cambuur took charge of the game. They scored two goals in the second half, putting them 2-0 up with less than 30 minutes to go.

Koeman got one goal back from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute. He then completed his double with a goal in the 11th minute of injury time.

This late goal made Koeman the first goalkeeper to score twice in one Eredivisie match.

It was not his first important penalty for Telstar. He had previously scored the winning penalty against FC Volendam in May to keep the club safe from relegation.

Koeman’s father stepped down as Netherlands manager in June after their exit from the World Cup against Morocco in the last-32.
