Barcelona's forward Lamine Yamal has been named LaLiga Player of the Season for the 2025/26 campaign. He played a key role in helping the club win the title.
The club shared the news on Friday. They called it “another award for the talent of Lamine Yamal.”
The 18-year-old had an impressive season under coach Hansi Flick. He scored 16 goals and made 11 assists as Barcelona won the Spanish top-flight title.
“The La Masia forward’s wizardry is evident. Every match he brought dribbling, goals and assists,” the club said on its website.
LaLiga announced the award after a season in which Yamal became one of the most important players in the league. He helped Barcelona stay on top in Spain.
This season was Yamal’s best for scoring goals. He shared the Zarra Trophy with teammate Ferran Torres for being the top scorer.
Yamal’s great performance also helped Barcelona win other awards. Flick was named Coach of the Season and goalkeeper Joan Garcia won Save of the Season.
By winning this award, Yamal becomes the second Barcelona player in a row to be named LaLiga Player of the Season. Raphinha took the prize last year.
Yamal is seen as one of the best young talents in football. He was a constant threat on the attack all season, combining goals, assists, and great dribbling to help Barcelona succeed.
