Femi Azeez Makes PFA Championship Team of the Year

Millwall striker Femi Azeez has been named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year. This recognition comes after his strong performance in the 2025/26 season in the English second division. He scored 11 goals and provided seven assists, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

Azeez received his award at the PFA Awards on Tuesday. He joins a group of top players in English club football who made the Championship Team of the Year.

The Nigerian forward is not alone in the Team of the Year. Coventry City goalkeeper Carl Rushworth is also included. The newly-promoted EPL team has several players listed, such as Milan van Ewijk, Bobby Thomas, Matt Grimes, Jack Rudoni, and Haji Wright.

The list also features Millwall defender Tristan Crama, Southampton’s Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney, and Swansea City striker Zan Vipotnik.

Azeez’s great season helped him earn a call-up to the Nigeria national team, led by coach Eric Chelle.

The 25-year-old showed he deserved the invite by scoring two goals against Zimbabwe. He also provided an assist in a match against Jamaica during Nigeria’s Unity Cup win in May.

His performances for Millwall and the national team have made him one of the top attacking players in the Championship.
