Manchester United faced Bournemouth on Sunday, and it marked the eighth game without a win for the team in all competitions.
The Red Devils have really struggled lately, managing just three draws and five losses.
After the match, some fans praised head coach Michael Carrick, but many booed the players as they headed to the tunnel following a 3-0 defeat against a strong Bournemouth team at Old Trafford.
The Cherries have been on a winning streak, winning their last four matches.
In the Europa League, they beat Sturm Graz 3-0, then secured another 2-0 win at home against Sunderland. Last Thursday, they defeated AC Milan 3-0 in their second Europa League match.
Bournemouth's victory at Old Trafford has increased pressure on Carrick, whose team is struggling to find their rhythm.
United last tasted victory on September 10 when they won against Azerbaijan's Sabah FK in their Champions League match at home.
In the Premier League, United lost to rivals Manchester City 1-0 and drew with Fulham, Tottenham, and Leeds 1-1.
They also lost 3-2 to Brighton in the League Cup, and in the Champions League, they were beaten by Atletico Madrid and Como with scores of 2-0 and 4-1 respectively. Recently, they lost to Bournemouth 3-0.
In this match, United played without their captain Bruno Fernandes. Carrick chose to leave him on the bench and did not bring him on during the game.
This was the first Premier League game this season where Fernandes started on the bench. The last time he did that was on May 4, 2025, in a 4-3 loss to Brentford.
Last week, Fernandes criticized the team's tactics after a heavy 4-1 defeat to Como in the Champions League.
In an interview with TNT Sports on Wednesday after that loss, Fernandes questioned why the team did not press Como aggressively. He felt that this allowed Como to gain confidence and control the game.
"It’s a decision from the staff to not press man to man and sometimes leave space behind and try to get the ball, but sometimes when you give too much of the ball to these teams, they get confidence," Fernandes said.
When asked why Fernandes was not in the starting line-up, Carrick told Sky Sports on Sunday that it was all about "pure football."
"Picking the team is always a difficult decision. We’ve got to make what we feel is the right one for the team to try to get the performance we want," he added.
