The Nigerian Boxing Board of Control has asked for information from BoxRec. This is part of their ongoing investigation into a petition. This petition led to the suspension of the Board’s sanctioned fights on the international boxing records database, The PUNCH reports.

Dr Bob Olukoya from Fort Knight Partners is leading the investigation. He wrote a letter to Dr Marina Sheppard, the CEO of BoxRec. In the letter, he said he is doing a fair review of everything related to the situation for the NBBofC. His goal is to find the facts and make suggestions that will help keep Nigerian boxing records honest.

Olukoya also asked for a copy of the petition that Onyeka Elum, a Nigerian boxing stakeholder, sent to BoxRec. He wants to see other letters and evidence that BoxRec used to remove the NBBofC from its records.
