Victor Osimhen might just be what Manchester United needs to tackle their scoring issues if he makes the move to Old Trafford. This is according to Turkish football expert Yetiş Yönetci.
In comments shared by A Spor, Yönetci praised the Galatasaray forward’s talent. He believes there are very few clubs in Europe where Osimhen wouldn’t fit in well.
“Victor Osimhen would be the cure for all of Manchester United’s woes,” Yönetci said.
Burak Kural, a former youth scout for Göztepe, agreed with this view.
“Absolutely! There are very few teams in Europe that Osimhen couldn’t play for,” he said.
These remarks follow Osimhen’s impressive start to the season in Turkey. The Nigerian player scored four goals and provided an assist in just his first two games.
On the other hand, United has had a rough beginning to their Premier League season, losing 2-0 to newly promoted Hull City.
Osimhen has been linked with a move to United before, but nothing has happened yet. Several former players from United have urged the club to go after the striker.
Patrice Evra, a former defender for United, recently named Osimhen as his top choice for a signing. He believes the Nigerian star could bring the strength they need to compete on different fronts.
“Osimhen. I have all due respect for Galatasaray, the love he gets there and the kind of player he is,” Evra said.
“Man United need a proper striker. I have so much respect for the strikers at Man United, and sometimes Bryan Mbeumo. But back in the day, we had four amazing strikers, and if you want to compete in every competition, you need more strikers.
“But if I have to name one player, I’ll say Osimhen because I know he can make the difference.”
With Osimhen continuing to shine at Galatasaray and United looking for more goal-scoring options, talks about a possible move to Old Trafford are likely to keep going.
