Veteran sports journalist Ralph Chidozie George has been re-elected to the executive board of the Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) for another four years.
Mr George, who works as a football commentator with SuperSport TV, got a fresh mandate for the 2026, 2030 term during the ANSFA Elective Congress this week at East End Hotel in Awka.
He first joined the board in 2020. However, his first four-year term officially started in July 2022 after the Nigeria Football Federation recognized the board led by Chikelue Iloenyosi.
Mr George, who used to be the chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in Enugu State, was supported by all 23 delegates from the Local Football Councils, Coaches Association, Referees Council, and Players’ Union in the state.
After his re-election, Mr George expressed gratitude to the delegates. He thanked them for their trust in him and promised to keep working with ANSFA Chairman Chikelue Iloenyosi to boost football in Anambra State.
The former presenter at Radio Nigeria, Brila FM, and Cosmo FM Enugu assured that he will support efforts to improve football management and create more chances for players and other stakeholders in the state.
Since his re-election, he has received many congratulatory messages from colleagues, football officials, players, and other stakeholders from Nigeria and beyond.
