Salah settles into Nwakaeme's old home in Turkey

Mohamed Salah has moved into the same house in Trabzon that former Super Eagles striker Anthony Nwakaeme lived in. This is after Salah joined Turkish club Trabzonspor, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan confirmed this news. He dismissed any rumors about the housing arrangements for Salah. Dogan said the property was once home to one of the club’s Nigerian stars.

"We currently have some houses in Trabzon that we’ve arranged for, let me put it this way: For example, the house he’s staying in now is the same house Nwakaeme used to stay in," Dogan said. This quote was shared by Fanatik.

The Trabzonspor president mentioned that the club has several properties for its players. He insisted there was nothing strange about this setup.

"There are about seven to eight houses there, villas, standard. Certain images are circulating, but there’s no big fuss about it. I don’t know where else in Trabzon such a house exists; I don’t even know if one exists," he added.

Nwakaeme played for Trabzonspor two times and became a favorite among fans. He left the club at the end of last season. The 37-year-old ended his playing career there after helping them win the Turkish Cup in May. The club has offered him a scouting job after his retirement.

Salah’s arrival is expected to help Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu. Former Trabzonspor forward Emre Gural thinks Salah's presence could open up space for the Nigerian striker.

"Paul Onuachu will now receive the ball in a much different way and create different positions. Onuachu will create more space because the opposing team’s players will focus on Mohamed Salah," Gural told Turkiyegazetesi.

"If he finds a little more space thanks to Salah, he can score many different goals. A player like Salah is a plus for any team."

Onuachu was the joint top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig last season with 22 goals. He shared the Golden Boot with Eldor Shomurodov from Istanbul Basaksehir.

Now, Onuachu will look to build a strong partnership with Salah as Trabzonspor aims for more success this season.
