Onuachu Teams Up with Salah at Trabzonspor

Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu has a new star partner after Mohamed Salah joined Trabzonspor. Salah completed his move to the Turkish Super Lig side, as reported by PUNCH Sports Extra.

The Egyptian superstar signed a two-year deal worth €17m per season after leaving Liverpool. This move ends months of talks about his future.

Trabzonspor introduced Salah on Wednesday. The 34-year-old arrived in Turkey ahead of a signing event planned for Thursday evening at Papara Park.

The club invited fans to come in their new-season shirts to witness this historic moment and begin this exciting journey together.

Salah joining the team is a big boost for Trabzonspor and Onuachu. Onuachu led the club's attack last season after reviving his career following his exit from Southampton.

The Super Eagles forward was a top scorer in the Super Lig, netting 22 goals and adding two assists in 30 matches. He became one of the league's most dangerous forwards.

Trabzonspor managed to keep the Nigerian striker despite interest from Saudi Arabia and other clubs. Onuachu recently showed his commitment to the team, even with offers from other Turkish clubs.

“There was interest from various sources. There were clubs from Türkiye that wanted me. There were very serious offers. However, my heart did not want to go anywhere other than Trabzon. The city, the fans and the atmosphere here give me a different feeling and courage,” Onuachu said.

The 32-year-old said he was eager to make a permanent return after a successful loan period.

“From the moment I arrived, this city gave me the feeling that this is where I belong. I worked very hard to rejoin, but in the end, the clubs are the decision-makers.

“If I left Southampton, it would either be Trabzonspor or nowhere at all. I always maintained this desire. I had a different connection with this place.”

With Salah's arrival, Onuachu is expected to receive even better support in attack. Salah is known for his creativity and goal-scoring ability. He scored 255 goals in 435 appearances during his successful nine years at Liverpool.

Trabzonspor hopes this new attacking duo can lead them to the Super Lig title after finishing third last season.
