Nigerian music promoter Samson “Sam Larry” Balogun was seen in public on Thursday for the first time since his car accident on July 5. The crash took the life of his bouncer, Wale.
The accident happened on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. Their vehicle hit a trailer, causing serious damage. Wale died in the crash, while Sam Larry suffered some injuries.
This Thursday outing was his first confirmed public appearance since the accident. It put an end to weeks of rumors about how he was doing.
Sam Larry was at the wedding of Omosalewa and Chinedu, which took place at Whitestone Event Centre in Ikeja, Lagos.
At the wedding, Fuji music star Wasiu “Kwam 1” Ayinde entertained the guests. Sam Larry, wearing a white agbada and a native cap with the words “KOS” on it, mingled with friends, associates, and other guests.
Videos from the wedding showed him dancing, greeting people, and walking to his seat.
Also performing at the event was singer 9ice, who thrilled the couple and the guests with a live show. Sam Larry greeted Kwam 1, chatted with him briefly, and later joined him on stage to say hello to the band before sitting back down.
The videos have gathered thousands of reactions on social media. Many people showed relief at seeing him recover.
The clips also seem to put to rest false rumors that had circulated online after the accident, claiming that the music promoter had died.
