Even as they controlled the game, they could not find the net early on. In the 13th minute, another chance slipped away as a shot went wide when it looked easier to score.
Gift Monday was a constant threat, causing problems for the Senegalese defenders. The home crowd cheered them on. Omewa almost broke the deadlock in the 15th minute when she rounded the goalkeeper, but her shot hit the woodwork, leaving the score at 0-0 as the first half ended.
The Super Falcons finally got their goal just three minutes into the second half. In the 48th minute, Shukurat Oladipo sent in a great cross, and Joy Omewa met it with a powerful header to give Nigeria the lead they had worked hard for. This goal boosted the team’s confidence.

The Falcons showed their strength again in the 66th minute. Captain Rasheedat Ajibade made a strong run and set up substitute Asisat Oshoala, who had come on for Omewa. Oshoala slotted the ball home, making it 3-0.
This result capped a great performance for the Super Falcons. They turned their second-half control into goals while staying solid at the back.
