Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi has added a new qualification to his football journey. He graduated from the PFA Business School with a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Football Sport Directorship.
Awoniyi shared his achievement on Instagram on Tuesday. He revealed he graduated with Merit.
The Coventry City forward said he believes that being a professional footballer should not stop him from pursuing education.
“Another proud moment for me off the pitch.
“Graduating from the PFA Business School with a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Football Sport Directorship with Merit.
“I have always believed that being a footballer shouldn’t stop you from being a student of the game and education has become an important part of that journey for me,” he said.
The 28-year-old expressed gratitude to the PFA Business School, his lecturers, and fellow students. He appreciated their support throughout the program.
He also thanked his family and friends for their encouragement during this time.
“Still playing. Still learning. The journey continues,” the striker added.
Awoniyi started his professional career with Imperial Academy in Nigeria before he joined Liverpool in 2015.
He has played for various clubs in Europe, including Union Berlin and Nottingham Forest. He has also represented Nigeria at the senior level.
The 29-year-old now plays for Premier League side Coventry City. He joined the club from Nottingham Forest in August 2026.
